Today is National Intern Day, and I wanted to take a moment to reflect on my internship so far at WatchMojo.
I grew up as a big fan of the YouTube Channel, and would occasionally watch Top 10’s during my free time. I had initially reached out to the VP of Business Development, before meeting with Ash, and eventually sealing my place in the 2021 Intern Cohort.
This summer, I have learned a lot about the entertainment industry, and have done some really exciting work with some of my peers. For one, my writing skills have improved, and I have also been able to meet some incredible people to work with on some exciting projects. I enjoy writing about things I am passionate about, while also posting a daily blog that gives insights on relevant business topics.
What I have really enjoyed thus far about the program is that I have been involved in so many projects that really make an impact. One of the biggest projects that I have been involved in is developing polls on the YouTube Community that generate data that we can hopefully distribute/ partner with companies for. Besides the usual things that are being uploaded to the community poll for videos, we have also been distributing poll questions that hopefully will gain valuable insights.
One poll that we did last week was asking people what streaming service they could not live without. The options were Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime, HBO Max, and Crunchyroll. Netflix won this battle with 57% of the total votes. Disney+ came in 2nd with a significant decrease of 21%, and then Amazon Prime, HBO Max, and Crunchyroll had in the regions of 7-9%. However, what was so rewarding to me was that over 135,000 people responded to a question that I helped create. As someone who has been a fan of the WatchMojo Brand for such a long time, I was very happy to see that I got some very valuable feedback from a poll question.
